I began bullet journaling almost two years ago as a way to keep on track with habits and ensure I was hitting personal goals in my life. I found it an incredible system and personally swear by it. But then, a colleague introduced me to the Best Self Journal.
The video that he slacked me was enough to send me into organisation overdrive. Stylishly designed, structured for pure productivity, and the additions of mindful quotes and habits made it a journal I just had to get my hands on. And thankfully Santa delivered!
As someone who is passionate about being productive and mindful the journal has everything you need to create your BEST self, hence the name.
Unveiling it was as exciting as sitting down with a coffee to read the introduction. Not only has this been created with complete usability in mind, but it uses established research and methods that will truly help you create your best life.
Why I wanted the Best Self Journal?
As I’ve mentioned, I’m a highly motivated individual who thrives on self-development. So for me, this journal is something that I know is going to be an incredible tool to help me achieve my 2018 plans. As they say, a dream is just a goal without a plan, and I plan on making my dreams come true, so hence I’m putting pen to paper and mapping my way there.
I’ve used traditional bullet journals before, but with the pre-laid out pages of the Best Self Journal, you truly have to stick to your actions and make yourself accountable to the hours you spend in your day.
How does it work?
There are a few products in the Best Self collection, but this journal is specifically designed with goal achieving in mind.
At the beginning of the journal you decide upon three goals you would like to achieve within three months. You then have to break down these goals into tasks and actions that you need to do in order to achieve your big goals.
It’s simple methodology, but it makes you accountable to your goal.
The best features
I’m sucker for motivational quotes and mindfulness, so for me, the gratitude habit on each day is a massive bonus.
I’m really excited to utilise the habit tracker, and plan my days as I feel I could definitely be more productive, and this will certainly make me more aware of the areas that I’m losing time in.
Is it better than a bullet journal?
It completely depends on your goal. If you truly want to commit to hitting your goals in 2018 then the Best Self Journal is the hardcore productivity and organisation tool you need. If you think you just want a pretty notebook then I’d stick with a traditional bullet journal.
I hope that my video and review has got you as excited for planning 2018 as it has me. I’ll keep you all updated on how I get on using it, and how my goals get on.
